Double Your Well Pump's Life!
Well pumps are the most integral part of any well water system–and at an average cost of $1,500-$3,600, they are the most expensive, too. Want a guaranteed way to get a lot more life out of your existing well pump? Expand your pressure tank capacity!
Doubling the size of your pressure take will double the remaining life expectancy of your well pump. Why? Well pumps are delivered with a fixed number of starts and stops–say, 10,000. Every time the pump activates to feed the pressure tank, that’s one start and one stop used. By adding pressure tank capacity, you’ll prolong that pump’s life at a fraction of the cost of a new pump. A quality pressure tank costs about $1,200 installed.
Install two!
Do you have a relatively new system with a perfectly good tank? Consider installing a second pressure tank in tandem with the first. You’ll get the same results–better water pressure and longer pump life–without scrapping any of your existing system.
Pressure tanks take anywhere from two to five hours to install, and often can be done in the same day you call. Contrast that with an all-day pump replacement job.
