Could Acid Water Be Ruining Your Pipes?
Just how does acid water affect our plumbing systems?
Our plumbing systems hot and cold water pipes and faucet are made of copper and brass. Acid water by definition is water with a PH less than 6.8 oh a PH scale. With this being said, those of you that have acid water will notice a turquoise colored stain in any of your toilets, sinks or any of your plumbing fixtures in general. That turquoise coloring staining is, is copper sulfate.
The copper sulfate is in the water because the water is trying to neutralizer itself at the expensive of the metal in your plumbing system, such as copper and brass. This is the same as putting a copper bracelet on your wrist and you will get a green stain on your skin.
Another sign of acid water may be a small pin hole water leak in your hot and cold water lines.
Do have any of these conditions?
Would like to prevent your water pipes from being ruined?
There is a solution to the problem.
We will be glad to come out and do a FREE in-home water analyst. We will test your water and tell you what the PH is and talk through with you proper solutions. Most of the time we use a filter that contains calcite and corsex. These are self-sacrificing minerals that are very similar to taking a tums for an upset stomach, just not as refined.
Again all our estimates are free, give us a call and we will be glad to come out and demonstrate our water analyst in front of you.
We will test for is PH, Hardness, Iron, Manganese, TDS (total dissolved solids) and chlorine residual.
We can test further if needed but this is basic high school chemistry and generally tells us all we need to know to make proper recommendations.
